James performs Classical, Spanish, Celtic and popular music. He also composes original music for solo guitar, influenced by all these styles as well as a heavy dose of modern acoustic. He has been active as a musician for over two decades, averaging around 150 gigs a year, including venues such as the Denver Botanical Gardens, The Denver Museum of Art, The Denver Athletic Club, The Boulder Chatauqua, The Boulder Theater and dozens of other venues throughout Colorado.
He has had long term stints at Venues in Omaha's Old Market, Ouray's Beaumont Hotel, The Peaks in Telluride, Wine and Cheese in Westminster and Mary's Lake Lodge in Estes Park. He currently performs a weekly gig at Twin Owls Steakhouse in Estes Park.
He has twice been the featured soloist with Colorado's Valley Symphony, performing Rodrigo's Concerto de Aranjuez. He has also scored two independent feature films and many short films, recorded two CD's and published a book on music composition for the guitarist. He studied Music Composition and Guitar Performance At The University of Nebraska Omaha and received a diploma from the London School of the Arts Los Angeles. James was born and raised in Omaha and lived in San Diego, Ouray, CO and has been an Estes Park resident for the last 10 years.
He has just rereleased his CD of original guitar music Mountain Time. He is currently working on a recording of new original music.
